The Nashville Entrepreneur Center has announced that the 2018 NEXT Awards + Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame presented by Lipscomb University will take place on November 1, 2018.
Building on six years of celebration, the NEXT Awards were previously produced in conjunction with the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and recognize the entrepreneurs who make a significant impact on Nashville’s economy.
The awards have now grown to include the induction of the prestigious Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame winners. “The Entrepreneurs’ Hall of Fame inductees are visionary leaders in the business community who have helped Nashville grow to become the great city we are” says Beth Chase, EC Board Chair. “We are excited about the evolution of this event because the NEXT Awards winners of today represent the Hall of Fame inductees of tomorrow.” Co-chairs of this year’s event include Stuart McWhorter, CEO of Clayton Associates; Dee Anna Smith, CEO of Sarah Cannon; and John Zarling, Executive Vice President, Marketing and New Business of Sony Music Nashville.
The co-chairs represent some of the most notable industries in Nashville as well as many facets of the entrepreneurial landscape. They also bring extensive experience and energy to the revitalized event. Lipscomb University returns as the presenting sponsor of the awards, renewing its commitment to entrepreneurial innovation. “Supporting the NEXT Awards furthers our mission to produce the next generation of innovative entrepreneurial leaders in the greater Nashville area,” says Joe Ivey, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Lipscomb University. “We are excited to once again participate in this high-energy celebration.”
The steering committee is responsible for putting together this prestigious gathering of Nashville’s innovative leaders. Tim Gray stated, 'I was surprised and humbled to be ask to join such an incredible group of leaders for this event. I hope that in the future we (Grayscale) might be nominated."
